She was put on antibiotics as a precaution.
She is currently in a heated bassinet to help her maintain her body temperature.
She is able to successfully breathe room air, which means she does not needing any machines to help her breathe.

Successfully attempted breastfeeding. She latched on great, but had a hard time staying awake.
We followed breastfeeding with cuddle care (skin to skin chest contact).

Blood tests were clean and she was taken off of the antibiotics.
They have been able to slowly lower bassinet’s temperature and she is still holding her body temp at 97 degrees.

I have decided to allow the NICU to supplement with formula today since she has only been hooked up to a lipid IV for now and she needs to eat and gain weight in order to come home.
I am pumping to help maintain a schedule and hopefully bring in my milk as well.

Evelynn was put on a billirubin light today, a light therapy to treat jaundice. She’s wearing adorable felt sunglasses.
She is being fed by bottle and is no longer getting IV lipids. I left a few small bottles of breastmilk with the nurse and it should be enough to cover the evening.
The kids were all able to see her today. Jesse and Olivia both got to touch her for the first time. Jesse said he wanted Evelynn to come home before Christmas.
I also got to breasteed her today and she did a GREAT job!
She stayed awake for most of our visit, looked around and turned her head!
Her weight today was 4 lbs 3.4 oz.

We weren’t able to visit the NICU today, but Daddy called to check on her this afternoon. She is having trouble keeping her food down and it looks like they may put in a feeding tube to help her eat.
I don’t know that we will be able to visit her tomorrow because we can’t afford the gas money. I’m going to see if we can rearrange things.
