Last weekend we celebrated my son’s 7th birthday and my nephew’s 3rd birthday by taking a trip the St. Louis Magic House. For those of you who have never had the pleasure of attending this magnificent house of wonder and creativity, then you definitely need to make it a stop on your next trip through the Midwest.
The Magic House started in 1979 as a quaint little Victorian house and has recently expanded into a much larger, but just as gorgeous, house full of hands on experiments like the waterworks section, an area just for kids under 6 years old and even an electrically charged ball that will make your hair stand on end! It had been years since we made a trip, so we decided to take the opportunity to celebrate two birthdays there!
We had four HOURS of fun there before I was too tired to stand (and we still hadn’t seen everything) and headed to a nearby nature park to hang out with family and friends. My sister prepared homemade kaleidascopes for the kids to put together as a favor, we sang “Happy Birthday”, let the kids run wild while we drank raw watermelon punch and then we chowed down on these amazing vegan, gluten-free whoopie pies (in place of regular cake) before we tore open the mountain of presents.
So first thing, this is an adapted recipe, but boy.. these turned out a million times better than we expected and looked way yummier than the original recipe made them look. Check out the recipe here!
And a few more photos from The Magic House and the party!
